The Green Brook Cultural, Heritage and Historic Preservation Committee and Green Brook Historical Society hosted tours of the Rock Avenue property, including its restored stone Milk House. Activities included quill pen writing, stencil drawing and tin-punch crafting.
Bernadette Rogoff of the Monmouth County Historical Association demonstrated wool spinning and discussed life in 18th-century New Jersey. Historical Society member Christine Napolitano led butter-making demonstrations, with visitors helping churn cream and sampling the results on crackers.
Volunteers from Watchung Hills High School and the Green Brook Leo Club continued to support the society’s events.
The house’s next monthly open house is November 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. Special tours are available by request, and new members and volunteers are welcome.
